What our customers say about DoubleTree PHL Airport

- Philadelphia, PA

The check-in process was mediocre, as there were signs regarding parking. The person at the counter seemed to be rather inattentive and avoided eye contact and answering direct contact. There should have been a kiosk to check-in.

I knew shuttle times would be every 30 minutes, but during my wait I witnessed at least 5 shuttles from Enterprise, Avis, Hilton, Embassy shuttles and this made me question my decision. When you're returning from another city and the weather is windy and rainy, you just want to get home ASAP. The check-out process of ticket validation was further hampered by the process of hotel guests tying up both hotel employees at the front desk, which ended up being a 15 minute ordeal. It turned out that my ticket did not need to be validated, as informed by the driver initially, my ticket was already validated.

Overall, the personal human interaction was below what I expected. Next time I do travel, this location will not be on my list of options to use.

I was parked in the economy lot and arrived by 4am. The lot was quite full, so I parked back in a dark corner and used my dome light as I gathered my things and accidentally left it on. So, of course by battery was dead when I returned 4 days later. I went to the receptionist in the hotel for help, but she had none to offer. It would have been nice if security or maintenance could have taken two minutes to jump my car, but I had to spend a lot of money ($160) and time (2.5 hours) sitting in the hot parking lot waiting for a ten second start. I know this was my fault, but as a very low income senior it was an upsetting experience for me and I could have used some help.

No clear instructions from DT and front desk says to park & pull a ticket and they will validate it. I park, pull the ticket and as I’m going inside, the shuttle was in front of the hotel and saw me running inside. I get the validation and as I walk out the shuttle leaves me. Even with me flagging and yelling they didn’t stop. I go back inside and tell the front desk that the shuttle left me and she proceeds to tell me that it would be 30 more minutes before the next shuttle, which would make me late for my flight, I had to call an Uber to make it to the airport in time.

Upon return I go to the designated area for the hotel shuttle pick up. I am there at 9:10 no shuttle by 9:35am. I called the hotel. They proceeded to tell me that the 930 just left and should be there shortly. I wait until five till 10. Still no shuttle and again have to call an Uber to be able to go back to the Doubletree to get my car. The worst shuttle experience I’ve ever experienced, especially from a reputable hotel like Doubletree. Very disappointing. The only good things I can say are the lot was well lit and car was safe and the location was close to airport but close doesn’t count if the shuttle is not going to be timely and accommodating. The ride to the airport is literally 6 to 7 minutes long.
